With such splendid surroundings, the choice of outdoor activities in Killarney is diverse and is guaranteed to deliver a unique experience which cannot be replicated anywhere else. The weather in Killarney is comparatively mild but check the forecast beforehand and dress accordingly just in case. Fishing is a favourite pastime for many of the town's visitors and residents and O'Neills on Plunkett Street provides the necessary bait, tackle and rod hire plus any information you might require. Two of the best are the Ross Golf Course which is of champion standard and the Dunloe Golf Course. Prices start from €15 for a 9 hole game. Both courses provide spectacular views of the countryside. For the more adventurous an outdoor education centre in nearby Cappanalea offers wind-surfing, rock-climbing and canoeing. It is open 7 days a week from 10 am to 5 pm and adult tickets cost €17 for a half day and €33 for a full day. Other activities available are boating, organised walks, diving and horse riding.
